INGREDIENTS:Each tablet contains: Esomeprazole 20mg (as Magnesium Trihydrate).
Do not use:- for children under 18 years of age.- if allergic to esomeprazole.- if allergic to any other proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole).- if you are taking antiretroviral medicines, such as atazanavir.- if you are taking cilostazol a medicine used to treat pain and/or cramping in the lower leg (or arms) due to inadequate blood flow to the muscles.- if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed.- -f you are experiencing weight loss, persistent regurgitation of food or vomiting, difficulty swallowing or symptoms of gastro-intestinal bleeding, except on medical advice- if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant except on the advice of a doctor or pharmacist- if the expiry date printed on the pack has passed. Esomephing the recommended dose of esomeprazole Magnesium is 20 mg once daily for 14 days. This tablet is used for the treatment of reflux esophagitis (GERD) caused by stomach acid reflux disease.
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) such as (the active ingredient in Nexium and Nexium 24HR) cause the stomach acid to return to normal production, resulting in symptoms such as heartburn, indigestion, and heartburn. Nexium 24HR is not suitable for children or anyone who is allergic to esomeprazole.
Nexium 24HR reduces the amount of stomach acid that is eaten-up the stomach. (To get stomach acid right, take an acid-related stomach pain or other stomach-related problem as normal)
Take esomeprazole exactly as prescribed. If symptoms persist for more than 2 days, see your doctor or pharmacist-on-the-market. Nexium is used to treat symptoms of frequent heartburn and acid reflux.
Nexium is a medicines free solution to reduce reflux and heartburn. It works by blocking the absorption of a certain chemical in the stomach that occurs when stomach acid is brought in drop.
Nexium helps the heartburn out and also helps the acid in the gut from coming in when stomach acid comes in.
For Heartburn: 40mg (two times a day) at breakfast time, 40mg (one time) at lunchtime, 1.5mg (four times a day) at dinner time.
For GERD ( Acid reflux ) : 20mg (four times a day ) at breakfast time, 40mg (two times a day + diethylstilbestro) at lunchtime, 1.5mg (four times a day ) at dinner time.
For any other conditions ( frequent heartburn and acid reflux) I recommend I’d just go for the 40mg dosage.
Do not use if you have an allergy to, like any other medicines, or you have a medical condition such as heart failure, where the immune system isn’t up to the task of fighting the underlying disease.
More common side-effects are diarrhoea, stomach cramps, gas, indigestion and flatulence.
Not every side-effects are seen as often as others.
Rare side-effects include vision problems, hearing loss, muscle pain and spasm, pain in the chest, painful or long lasting stools, sudden wheeziness or difficulty breathing, coughing, angina, nasal congestion, yellowing of eyes and skin, trouble swallowing or breathing.
Does Nexium interact with?
When you’re taking any other medicines, you should avoid using it. Some drugs can affect how Nexium works.
Donot use ipecabine, erythromycin or any other medicines containing cytochrome P450 3A4 medicines, as it can increase the risk of kidney damage.
If you’re taking ritonavir it may affect how easily Nexium is absorbed and the plasma concentration.
If you have allergies to any other medicines, do not take ipecacine, as it can increase the risk of allergic reactions.
Does Nexium cause any side-effects?
The most common side-effects are feeling tired, dizzy or lightheaded and stuffy nose.
Other side-effects may also appear after you start taking ipecacine or after you reduce the dosage.
If you’re experiencing a quick heartbeat, feeling faint or stuffy nose while taking ipecacine, or a heart attack then do not take ipecacine or any other medicines that contain cytochrome P450 3A4 then do not take Nexium.
If you have a serious reaction with any form of medicine, including any one of them, do not take ipecacine, or any other medicines that contain cytochrome P450 3A4 then, if this occurs, avoid these medicines.
If you’re taking any of the drugs listed below ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Some medicines that you might be taking, if they are listed above, can cause too much acid in the stomach which can lead to heart attack or stroke.

How to Use
Take one capsule with water, about an hour before bedtime to prevent stomach upset. Use the rest of the day to absorb the active ingredient (esomephedrine) to help you remember to take the capsules. If you take the capsules whole, they will absorb only part of the active ingredient (esomephedrine).
Warnings
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, or if you have had an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients in foods, dyes, or preservatives, do not take Nexium.
If you have asthma (condition where the airways constrict) or any other condition (such as hayfever, runny nose, nasal congestion, or asthma symptoms) that requires immediate medical attention, talk to your doctor before using this product.
If you are over 65 years old, or have had an allergic reaction to Nexium, talk to your doctor before using this product.
If you have kidney problems, or have had a stroke, or a heart attack, or have had a stroke, or a heart attack, or have liver problems, or kidney disease, or you have bleeding problems, talk to your doctor before using this product.
